I love dogs and have always had a special passion for pit bulls as well, This breed gets a raw deal and it just isn’t fare. They are so sweet, and gentle like babies that want to be loved. I am a junior in high school and have volunteered at my local ASPCA. I reside in Virginia Beach Virginia, Please let me know what I can do from here to help your organization. I truly want to be a part of this incredible organization. My goal is to Open a animal rescue and shelter one day. I have a business plan, business cards and everything. I even started my own dog walking business when I was just 10 years old.

I couldn’t agree more. My life was so much more enriched when I took in a little pit bull that no one wanted.
I want to do as much as I can to help this breed, and banish the awful notions and actions that surround them.
In my area, Massachusetts, I have seen a much healthier attitude of late. I have encountered many people, often older people, walking pit bulls who all agree that this is a wonderful breed and they’re so happy they adopted.

  4. Thanks for the work you do. We recently adopted 2 PBs from an adoption service in our area called Finding Shelter.org. They are named Gretel and Cinnamon and they are mother and pup. They are awesome dogs. Prior to them we had Roxy whom we adopted from the local shelter. $35 and she was the best friend we ever had.

I encourage anyone who is considering adopting or fostering a Pitty or Pitty mix to go for it! They are the BEST dogs in the world and it is such a shame that they have been turned into the media monsters they have become by sensational news shoes and idiot, uneducated owners. They are lovable, loyal, smart and silly and we are so happy with our two new girls!

    Keep up the great work!

We thank you for doing such wonderful job of helping Pit Bulls. My fiance found an 8 week old PB wondering the streets of Albany and decided to bring her back to our home in NJ. She is the sweetest, most lovable dog I could ever ask for and I can’t imagine having a different breed.
It also breaks my heart to think how cruel people can get to dispose a puppy into a garbage bag as if it’s trash. But as they say, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.
    Keep up the great work!!!

Luna (my Pit) is sending her thanks as well :0)

Hello! My name is Dana Lorsch and I work for American Express Travel. We are getting ready to do our anual Employee Giving Campaign. I seen Harpers Story on the Today show and it deeply touched me how you believe in these animals and hold onto hope. I would like to select Dolly’s Foundation for my Employee Giving and American Express will match my donation throughout the 2012 year. In order to do so, I need to obtain some information. They are requesting the EIN, Address, phone, website as well as the contact information – Name, Title, and email address. If you could please provide that information at your earliest convenience, I would greatly appreciate it!

    Thank you!

I am so in favor of this foundation I just cannot express this issue in words. There is nothing more heart breaking than going to the local animal shelter and seeing the number of PB’s abandoned because of the lack of patience to deal with them. It absolutely breaks my <3. To see the city limits think about banning the PB breed because people think they are their worst enemy. I own a mixed breed American PB and theres nothing more depressing than an owner who all of a sudden adopted one of these dogs and then cannot handle the responsibility involved after the fact that they have one. So I am just ecstatic that this exists. It is an ongoing problem. Owning one of these dogs is a lifetime committment! Its like adopting a child and then finding out that its not a normal dog and giving up! This is not acceptable! So before you adopt one, u better have a built in patience gene. U wouldnt dump off your ADHD kid, so do not give up on your dog. This is one of the most loyal, loving dogs I own. I have a PUG, and a husky/PB mix, as well as the Husky and I LOVE my PB. It requires a lot of exercise and special treatment. As well as this breed just became established with the AKC to be recognized because there is NO TRUE PIT BULL breed. Do your research and you will understand that these dogs were bred to fight other dogs, not humans. And they are wonderful with humans. But when humans teach them bad habits, they learn quickly! So dont fear the PB, fear yourself. There are many ways to love them just like any other dog. But if you arent committed you should not adopt and dump them when you are unable to handle it!

We adopted a pit-mix last year to be a playmate for our other pit-mix. We drove 5 hours to CT (Bully Breed Rescue) to get her because after seeing her picture, we knew she was “the one”. She has been great and we could not have asked for a better addition to the family. It makes me furious when people discriminate against a breed they have NO idea about. They are awesome additions to ANY family. Thank you for all your work! Keep it going!! :)
