i just read the story about little Harper’s rescue. What a cutie she is!!! And so lucky to have found your organization. It is truly amazing what a little time & love will do for a dogs soul.
Both of my dogs are rescues and will have the very best that i can provide for the rest of their lives. When the time comes i will keep you in mind when looking for a new friend to share our home with.
There are angels that walk among us and Harper has found one.
Bless you for the wonderful work you do!

  6. i am very glad someone has come forward to help these misunderstood and negatively publicised dog breed.I love pit bull terriers and i just had to put my staffordshire terrier down for
very bad rear hip displasia. his name was roscoe and he was 11 and a half years old and i know it was the best thing for him cause of the pain he was in but it still killed me. I still have 3 other dogs and im trying to decide when to get another pit bull. i will think about adopting a rescued one. You have my sincerest thanks for what your doing to help pit bulls. it is about time someone stood up for these dogs

I own a pit bull (named baby girl). She is approx. 5 years old and a full blooded red-nosed. I love her to death and wouldn’t trade her for any other breed. I rescued her from a shelter as well that I was working at. Someday we will turn their bad name into a good one!!!!!!!!

  8. I’m so glad to see a rescue for pit bulls. I do not want one but someone has to take good care of them. I think they get a bad wrap!!
I have a mutt I dearly love him.

YOUR GROUP IS A GOD SEND TO THESE BEAUTIFUL ANIMALS, I wish there were allowed more where I live, I would grab probably all of them. They get such a bad rap, but it’s not them, it’s their human parents. If I ever get a home, I’m taking a road trip to see you to get me a beautiful pit, after I visit my local shelter here. They need a safe haven from all those that just don’t understand them and misstreat them. Thank you!!!!

Thank you for all that you do for this often misunderstood breed! We loved watching Harper’s story. We live in Augusta, Georgia and picked up an abandoned pit mix on the side of the road in March. He has been such a blessing to our family. Thank you again for giving many a second chance!

Someday I will own plenty of land, and I will close down all the shelters that kill pit bulls because of their breed. I will die a happy “dog lady” when I have a whole SLEW of pitties … my adopted pitties are my kids.. My daughter (11yrs) gets mad that I play with the dogs in the pool while she has to do homework. Hey.. gotta show EVERYONE attention.. not just humans.. :)

The story about Harper touched my heart. I sent it to all my dog loving family and friends. I am also going to make a donation to Dolly’s Foundation in memory of my son, Ben’s, dog, Shrimp who recently passed. He was a dog that was out wandering the streets with nonone
to care for him and feel him. My son gave him a good, loving home but that dog never got over the early deprivation from food. He would eat ANYTHING!!!

Well now I believe he has all he needs or wants to eat. I know dogs go to heaven because we would miss them so terribly.

I came across your website read what your doing and think its awsome. I have a 1yr old red-nose pit that i adopted from a friend who couldn’t keep him. His name is “Kilo” and i think he’s an awsome dog. He’s friendly, playful, loving, protective, and a joy to have around. Nothing like what the media would have you believe. Keep up the great work. God bless you and Bullies too..

  15. I recently found an American Pit Bull on the side of the road, and upon further inspection, I saw that she was used as a bait dog, and she had a LOT of scars on her. She was super skinny, sad, and wanted to be loved. When I saw her I knew I could not leave her there, so I opened my car door, called to her, and she willingly jumped into my car. It’s been two weeks and she is gaining back her weight, she is SOO sweet, and I love her. No dog deserves to be left alone in the middle of the woods. It’s a horrible thing to abandoned a dog, and people should go to prison for that. I just wanted to share my story and let you know how good it made me feel to read about Harper and how well she is being taken care of. God Bless you!

  16. As the owner of two amazing black pit mixes I just want to say that you are an inspiration. I read your post about “Tega” and saw Harper’s apperance on the today show this morning and was moved by your dedication. I hope that the show will lead many more to sites and organizations like yours and light a spark in people to get involved. Thank you for all you do!

Do you have to live in Fla. to be able to adopt one of these beauties? I’ve always been in love with the breed and have had 3 of my own… My most current will be 11 this year and hopefully will still be around for many more years. But was just wondering about policy in the future.

What an amazing story about Harper! You guys are awesome! Pit bulls will always have a special place in my heart! I rescued mine off the street in West Nashville..she was almost hit by a car…she stole my heat and Harley has been the most amazing dog! I have had her a year and she is full of energy yet want to sit in my lap all the time! Most loving dog I have ever had and so glad she is mine! She is my world! I am one proud pit bull mama! Let’s all put it out there how amazing pit bulls are and that they are loving and caring and very kind! Thanks for all you do!

Thank you for caring about Pit Bulls. I first happened upon the story of Harper by chance and was amazed. Its good to know that there are other out there that will fight for a “lost cause”. Dolly is a beautiful little girl as well. I love the picture in the youtube video of her with the weenie dog because I have two rescues…a wennie and a Pit! They are so funny together and have given me many hours of laughter. We also had a Rottweiler for 10 wonderful years and we still miss her. I agree that they are just dogs. A Pit Bull doesn’t know she’s a Pit anymore then a wennie knows she’s a wennie! All they know is you love them and they love you.

I saw Dolly’s story and video and it nearly brought me to tears. How these bad people can treat these innocent beautiful dogs like this. I thank God everyday for people like Erica and others who have the means and love to make a difference for God’s animals. I live in El Salvador and have one female pitbull named Sofy and shes so gentle and yet protective of my husband and I. She is a joy to have. When you own one of these dogs you have a sense of love and understanding and it makes you proud to save a life of one of this breed of dog who is treated wrongfully alot of the time. I am trying to get for Sofy another pitbull compainion.

My family and I are the proud owners of two pit bull mix dogs, one 10 yrs old female that we adopted from friends, the other 9 years old and adopted from PBRC. We always educate about the breed whenever it comes up (or we bring it up!) and I thank you for also standing up for these wonderful dogs. My pups will forever have my heart.

I found your site through a story on MSN about the top 11 animal stries of 2011 & theres was little Harper on there, cute as can be. So I read her story & saw this site in there. I think what you guys are doing is absouletly amazing! I have an American Razor nosed Pit, she is almost 2 now, her name is Laney & she is the sweetest dog ever! She just loves attention & she is very tolerant, I also have a 2 year old son. I wish there were more organizations like yours around, especially in the cit where I used to live, Fayetteville, NC. They just passed a thing there were any dog that is a “bully breed” that is brought to shelthers will be held for the manditory 72 hours & then put to sleep, they wont even get a chance to be adopted & if its the owners turning them over, they are put right to sleep as soon as they get them to the back. It is so sad, really. I have grown up around many dogs that are considered “bully breed” dogs & they are the sweetest dogs ever! The only dog my mother wouldnt let us go around when we were little was chiuahuas, because her mother’s ripped the middle of my mom;s nose out when she was little just for sitting on my grandmothers lap. I have heard of so many little dogs biting & things like hat, but I dont see places banning them or putting them on bully lists or things of that sort. I really wish people would understand & realize, that with these types of dogs, it’s not the dog themself, its their owners that make them that way.

  23. I recognize one of the rescue pups…Harper…isn’t that the doggie who was born deformed? I just read an article about her yesterday. I am so drawn to that smile of hers…she truly loves life, doesn’t she?

Congratulations on all of your success stories!

I love pits. Have two brothers, Titan and Zeus. I lost Titan last year. His brother Zeus is now twelve. Cant think about when i lose him to. I will just say i love these organizations that go out on a limb for pits. My mother works for Petco and one thing i cant stand is that that they throw bags and bags of dog food away that could help places that rescue these animals and help feed them. No they must throw this food in dumpsters because bags are broken and ripped employees cant even have any. This is outrageous what they do when they could be helping people feed so many of these animals people are trying to save. I dont understand…

Thank you for all the work you do. I’ve donated money in the past; I sincerely wish I could do more.
Bless you, and all the loving families who adopted through you.
